Books That Have Solid Scientific Research
Behind Them
Recent state of the art research has shown that
50 chemicals have hormonal effects on the human body at infinitesimal small amounts. Unfortunately, there are currently
85,000 different chemicals now in use in the U.S. The vast majority of these chemicals are untested for hormonal
effects. Unfortunately, we are only scratching the surface of this new field which was only come to the forefront
of scientific thinking in 1991 even though early experiments in the 1950's gave hints of hormone disruption with
DDT. Unfortunately, it is quite probable that your physician has no knowledge of this field because research takes
a long while (20-30 years) to get into the practice of medicine especially when it is unprofitable.

Our Stolen Future

The author, Theo Colborn, has compiled
scientific research in a detective story form that logically pins many of our modern diseases such as uterine malformation,
prostate cancer, breast cancer, uterine cancer on chemicals and plastics that we use in society today. These chemicals
mimic estrogen in our body. Too much estrogen causes proliferation of some types of cells in the body leading to
breast cancer, endometrial cancer, or even prostate cancer. Her assertions are well documented by scientific research.
She has collected scientific studies from around the world and pieced them together in a coherent logical format.
This book spurred the United States Congress to order the EPA to study hormonal effects of chemicals in our society.
A well written interesting classic especially for the doubter.
Healthy Living in a Toxic World

Cynthia Fincher, Ph.D., suggests simple
ways to alter our lifestyle with a minimum of effort to decrease our chance of cancer, auto immune disease such
as arthritis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis. She concentrates on scientific studies that show toxicity of modern
chemicals commonly in use in our modern society. She notes that chronic toxicity and synergistic effect of chemicals
is largely untested. Neurotoxicity such as headaches, fuzzy impaired thinking and memory impairment is largely
unmeasured in the vast majority of chemicals now in use. She boils this all down to practical measures that you
can easily achieve to better your health and your mental acuity. A must for the pragmatic agnostic who is sick.
The Breast Cancer Prevention Diet

Dr. Bob Arnot makes a shocking statement,
"Only a few percent of Breast Cancer can be accounted for by genetic causes! The remaining percent must be
accounted for by environmental causes." Every physician knows that Breast Cancer incidence is tied to estrogen
exposure. The more estrogen exposure, the greater the incidence of Breast Cancer. Arnot cites the example of women
in Thailand and Sri Lanka. The death rate due to Breast Cancer in Thailand is only 2-5 per 100,000 women. In the
United States, the Breast Cancer death rate is 30-40 per 100,000 women. When these Asian women move to the United States, their children have breast
cancer rates approaching that of American women. When women move from countries of high breast cancer risk to that
of a lower one, their risk declines as well.
Dr. Arnot has practical suggestions on foods
that have estrogen blocking effects that are used by many Breast Cancer patients. Some early research that he cites
using foods as estrogen blockers hint that the results are better than tamoxifen with much less side effects. In
other words, according to Arnot, rat studies showed eating ground flax seeds showed a large reduction in Breast
Cancer size without the side effects of Tamoxifen.
This book should be required reading for anyone with Breast Cancer.

About Menopause

John Lee, M.D., a Norwegian, wrote
this book from the viewpoint of a practitioner applying research to his daily medical practice in California. He
claims that osteoporosis, Uterine fibroid tumors ( myomas ), endometriosis, endometrial cancer, PMS premenstrual
syndrome, uterine fibromas, and endometrial cancer come from too much estrogen relative to progesterone. He has
personally cured many of these diseases with simply natural progesterone cream. He readily admits that progesterone
cream is not a panacea for this disease and that proper nutrition and the avoidance of xenoestrogens, alcohol and
smoking is essential. He presents actual Bone Scan Density data that shows that he was able to increase bone density
to normal in a severely osteoporotic elderly lady. He claims to have replicated his results in several hundred
patients. This is a ground breaking book and should be required reading for your Family Practice physician or Obstetric/Gynecologist.

John Lee, M.D., a Norwegian, wrote
this book as a refinement of the book above. There is a greater emphasis on chemicals in our environment that act
as estrogens that have caused much of the female diseases seen by Obstetric/Gynecologists. If you are a women,
you should read this book. You could avoid much heartache, medical problems and medical bills by reading this.
An Alternative Approach to Allergies

We typically find that many of our patients who have PMS are also suffering from chemical injury. The hallmark of chemical injury is the hypersensitivity
of smell OR the loss of smell. Theron
Randolf, M.D. has treated thousands of chemically injured patients and shows the link between allergies, autoimmune
disease and chemical injury.
